Preventive Care
Preventive care is an important part of your oral health. Through routine cleanings, dental exams and X-Rays, we can help you maintain a healthy smile.
Dental Exams & Hygiene
Our dentist and dental hygienists will help you maintain your oral health through regular cleanings and examinations.
WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO HAVE REGULAR CLEANINGS?
Prevention is the key to your oral health. We know that you do your best to maintain your oral health at home through proper brushing and flossing. However, plaque, tartar, and gingivitis can happen despite your best efforts, and need to be treated by a professional.
Staying up to date with your hygiene appointments can help prevent gum disease, which can lead to more serious issues.
Our hygienists may also help treat conditions such as dry-mouth, plaque, and bad breath.
SHOULD I HAVE X-RAYS TAKEN?
Dentists rely on X-Rays to see parts of the tooth they are not able to see during a visual examination. The images also allow them to diagnose problems including cavities and damage to the jaw bone that supports your teeth.
Your dentist may also be able to detect problems that exist below your gum line, such as broken tooth roots and impacted teeth. An X-Ray is the only way to see the inside of your tissues.
X-Rays are needed for a complete understanding of your mouth and to provide the best care possible.
If you are worried about radiation, please ask us about the details. We use digital X-Rays which have 90% less radiation than the previously used film. Not using plastic film also cuts down on our environmental impact. The radiation associated with dental X-Rays is less than 3-5% of all of your non-natural radiation intake.

Hygienist Services
We all know that the best oral health begins at home with a regimen of regular brushing and flossing, but even the most diligent flossers need to supplement their efforts with regular dental checkups and periodic professional cleaning sessions. Typical sessions with our hygienists would include scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatment. Our hygienists can also help with helpful tips for optimal oral hygiene practices, cosmetic tooth whitening, and oral health evaluations using our intraoral camera.
