Dr. Jeffrey Covert DDS
Dentist

Jeff is a native Haligonian who graduated from the Dalhousie School of Dentistry in 1997 after receiving Bachelor of Science Biology from Dalhousie University, and a Masters of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph.

Jeff is dedicated to his profession, striving to provide exceptional dental care with the utmost patient comfort in mind. He practices comprehensive family dentistry, including, oral health maintenance, restorative dentistry, implant dentistry, and general practitioner orthodontics. When not practicing dentistry, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid runner and loves to ski.

Dr. Patrick Reid DDS
Dentist

Patrick grew up in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He completed a Bachelor of Music at McGill University in 2006 and a Bachelor of Integrated Studies with a focus in Chemistry in 2017 before graduating from the Dalhousie School of Dentistry in 2021. While in dental school, Patrick received several awards including the Dr. Terry Ingham Memorial Scholarship for academic performance and the student who best exemplifies strong humanitarian and ethical principles.

Patrick feels very fortunate to be a part of the Shad Bay Dental team and continue its long-held tradition of providing the highest standard of patient-focused care. He is dedicated to keeping up to date in all aspects of comprehensive general dentistry and oral health maintenance including restorative dentistry, early childhood and pediatrics, prosthodontics (dentures and implants), endodontics (root canals), general practitioner orthodontics, and temporomandibular disorder (TMD), always with a strong emphasis on patient comfort and positive experience.

Patrick understands and appreciates those with dental anxiety or fear and strives to make their patient experience as stress-free as possible. Currently, he is member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Nova Scotia Dental Association and the International Association of Orthodontists.

Dr. Maud McEvoy DDS
Dentist

Maud received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology in 1982 and graduated from University of Alberta Dentistry School in 1986. She began her dentistry career in Edmonton until she eventually moved to Nova Scotia, where she opened the Shad Bay Dental practice on the Prospect Road in 1989.

Maud has interests in providing all phases and types of dentistry to her patients, focusing on CEREC one-visit porcelain crowns, full phase orthodontics, children, implants, cosmetic and aesthetic comprehensive dentistry and temporomandibular joint (TMJ).

Maud enjoys taking continuing education courses to keep advancing her knowledge, especially as technology advances.
